Scholarship Thank You Letter

Patrick Said:

If I thank him in person, is a scholarship thank you letter necessary?

We Answered:

I would send the letter, now. If you want to send a follow-up "nice to meet you" letter, that would probably be good, too.

Ernest Said:

Should I send SCHOLARSHIP THANK YOU letter after I find out where I'm attending?

We Answered:

I would send the thank you letter as soon as possible. After all, it was given to you for some sort of accomplishment and not necessarily based on what college you would be attending. So, send the thank you now and then send another note after you've received your acceptance letter from the school you plan to attend so your generous supporters can keep rooting for you.

Dora Said:

I want to send a scholarship thank you letter to CSEA...?

We Answered:

First, congratulations on winning the scholarship! I think it's wonderful that you want to send a thank you letter to CSEA.

Is there a phone number on the any of the letters they sent you? How about contacting your college and asking a financial aid officer? They should have a record of the funds they received when the posted the scholarship money to your tuition account.

Good luck! If you need any more scholarship help, please feel free to visit www.how2winscholarships.com

Scholarship thank you letter help?

We Answered:

Thank you for remembering to write the thank you note! I'm impressed.

Begin with Dear Members of ... or just Dear (Club Name)

The 1st paragraph should thank them for their gift, and be specific about the amount and when you received it. Keep it short..just a couple of sentences.

In the next paragraph, tell them how the gift will help you, i.e., books, tuition, etc.

Use the third paragraph to reiterate your appreciation of the gift.

Close with a "sincerely" or "in appreciation."

Again, I'm glad you're writing the note. Trust me, the club members will appreciate your message no matter how you write the words.

What do you think about my scholarship thank-you letter?

We Answered:

It looks great! You just have a few minor grammatical errors. I put the correct grammar in capitol letters below. Congrats on the scholarship!!!!!

Dear ______________

I would like to give my sincerest thanks for awarding me the $1000 _____ Memorial Scholarship for the 2010 year. I view this award not only in terms of much-needed financial endowment, but also as an inspiration to continue giving back to my community as well. I am immensely grateful for the generosity of everyone within the _____ and for their investment in my future. This scholarship will enable me to continue completing my Bachelor of Commerce with the University of_____, with THE ultimate goal of expanding my father’s driving school business.

I am further inspired by the work of this scholarship’s benefactor, J______. His skill in the business world, especially his ability to expand Charter Truck and Trailer Rentals exponentially, HAS (SKILL IS SINGULAR) motivated me to strive to achieve my career goals for the road ahead. His integrity and involvement WITH (NOT WITHIN) the association greatly benefitted the trucking industry in ______; it is my hope to continue to advance the industry and related professions for the future as well.

Once again, I would like thank everyone at the _____ for your tremendous generosity and benevolent dedication to the State YOU SERVE.

Annie Said:

How can I write a great thank you letter for scholarship?

We Answered:

Dear Scholarship Donor:
The words "Thank You" can not express my true gratitude for the opportunities which your assistance has opened for me. Thanks to your contribution toward my educational goals, I will be able to focus on excellence more than necessity. Please be assured that I will keep your trust in mind. Hoping my success will reflect brightly upon your generosity.
Sincerely,
X

Or something along those lines- but I would rewrite the letter for each award having a thesaurus handy and mixing up praises etc. Mostly make it your heartfelt gratitude in them for making a good choice for funds that will be put to good use. It does not need to be a long letter. Just letting them know their effort is appreciated shows they made a good choice.

Discuss It!
