Scholarships And Bursaries

Scholarships/bursaries available for people studying to be elementary school teachers (Ontario, Canada)?

Billy Said:

how do I find scholarships, sponsorships or bursaries to become a pilot?

We Answered:

Let me begin by saying there's nothing to stop someone you're age from becoming a pilot, however I think you would struggle to find sponsorship or even a place on an integrated course as most have an age limit of around 28.

You're best bet would be to take the modular training route and train whilst working at you're current job. It takes longer than an integrated course, but it does have it's benefits.

For more advice from people more qualified than myself (i.e. airline pilots and operators) have a look at www.pprune.org

I'd advise against a degree in aero engineering if training to be a pilot. I've not found mine to be of much more use than any other degree would have been outside of engineering.

What scholarships or bursaries are available for a Canadian and EU citizen studying in Europe?

We Answered:

Where do you get this information that you can study for free just because you have an EU passport?

Each country has its own rules but generally speaking you are required to be resident for tax purposes for a period of time before you are entitled to free anything. If you are a minor, they look to your parents to see tax eligibility. The schools can and do ask to see your tax returns.

Only Sweden and Norway have genuinely free universities but I believe that they are changing the rules starting in 2010 to bring themselves into line with the rest of the EU.

By the way Masters programmes are not usually free, even to home students.

Can you get bursaries or scholarships for boarding schools in London?

We Answered:

Hi there... why just London or Essex... could you not go a bit further... you will be boarding... LOL. I have a good friend who goes to Christ's Hospital ... it's an 11-18 charitable boarding school for children from all backgrounds near Horsham West Sussex... it started as a place for poor kids off the streets is 1650 or something... but now it's one of the best schools in the UK!!! You have to pay a certain amount, but I think it depends on how much your parents can afford I think... but it still costs money.

HOW good are your grades - if you thinking of scholarships???
