Scholarships For Adults

Gordon Said:

Where can you find adult scholarships?

We Answered:

Are you planning on attending graduate school? If so, I recommend applying for the graduate or research assistant positions. It can provide help to attend college along with every day cash in the form of a salary for working so many hours per week at the college. The college should have more information on the subject on their website. I will also provide some free methods to locate scholarship money.

First, the college's financial aid office and website has a list of private scholarships offered from outside organizations and companies. Sometimes a college major's website will list scholarships, too.

Second, the public library has a book listing scholarships with some not even listed on the web.

Finally, I recommend joining several free membership scholarship search websites. There are scholarships for a variety of things including ethnicity, clubs, hobbies, and even wearing duct tape to the high school prom. Most are updated on a regular basis. Most offer a customized search based on information entered onto a form on the website.

Good luck!

Is there any way to find decent scholarships for Adults?

We Answered:

Even if you don't qualify for a Pell Grant, complete a FAFSA. This also may expose you to other grants and scholarships. Also, the financial aid office at the individual school itself may have school specific scholarships. Also try researching scholarships based on where you live, your career path, any disabilities or unique traits you may have, community organizations, religion, the possibilities are endless. Good Luck!

Ideas on grants and scholarships for returning adults to college?

We Answered:

There are scholarships and grants specifically for what are called "non-traditional students." These are students who took time off school to raise a family, etc. Try going to your college's scholarship office and ask them to see if any of those are available...check for other scholarships available while you're there. Also, fill out a FAFSA form, they're online!

Does anyone know of any scholarships for adults with ADD?

We Answered:

I haven't found any and I have ADD, I just take my meds. Anyway you can search Ed.gov, this site has lots of grants, but the only problem is that the site is not very user friendly. And most college site, are for like freshmen entering school and second year sophomores. Good luck and if you find anything let me know.

Anyone know of any scholarships for adults returning to college?

We Answered:

There are so many scholarships out there, if you are willing to write the essay! Simple go to google or answers and type in your specialty; single mom, Jewish, left handed, you name it! Also, fill out a FASA form on line. You MAY be eligible for grants and almost everyone gets alittle something, like a Pell or Bog grant. It's usally enough to register for local community college.
