The best place to find a scholarship of that type is from the college itself. However, there are other sources for scholarships and grants to enable you to attend college. All of these sources are free to join and use.

First, I recommend applying in the January or early February of your senior year of high school to apply at FAFSA.ed.gov. However, if you are attending college during the spring or summer sessions, you have to apply now. This is based on your family's income and financial resources.

Second, your high school guidance office, if you are a high school student, will have a list of local scholarships for its students to apply for consideration.

Third, your state government offers grants to pay for college tuition, and it can be located by searching your state government's website.

Fourth, check out your college's financial aid website and office because they list private scholarships from organizations and companies. Sometimes, your college major's website will list scholarships related to the major. Make sure to mention this on your college application and any financial aid correspondence with them on being a first generation college student.

Finally, join several free membership scholarship search websites of which fastweb.com is one. Most are updated on a regular basis. Most offer a customized search based on the information you have provided.

Wow, what are you talking about? Almost any American can get into college, there are thousands of scholarships and programs to help out people who truly can't afford to pay for college, all you have to do is get off your butt and find them. If you didn't go to college its your own fault. Maybe the immigrants work harder to find those scholarships and dont sit on their butts waiting for a handout, thats y they get them.
