Yes the school is pretty expensive. I am planning on going there too actually and I've just recently looked into the school and it looks amazing. I'm not sure about the requirement, but there arn't many though. You just have to be able to play your instrument good.

yeah, you would have to know how to read sheet music and also they require all guitar applicants to perform a 5 minute solo while keeping the audience and judges entertained. then you and all other applicants would go thru like a process of elimination type of tournament. kind of like american idol

I'm a pianist, not a conductor; but would loved to have been able to conduct a complete performance of Richard Wagner's great "Ring" cycle(4-full length operas: total performance time spread out over 4 days = 15-16 hrs.)

Eva Wagner-Pasquier who is his great-granddaughter, is poised to assume the helm, director-ship, of the Wagner Festivals in Bayreuth, Germany.

And if I were a conductor, I would love to study with her for a year, and then receive her consent and approval, permission to conduct this great musical epic, there, at the world renowned "Festspielhaus" in Bayreuth, Germany.

This - the world's most distinctive and unique opera-house - was conceived and whose construction was overseen, by Wagner himself, must truly be a great marvel of the music world. The orchestra pit is sunken, back beneath, under the stage; cannot be seen by the audience: and the acoustics are supposed to be phenomenal: ethereal.

This, is the height of FANTASY for me; never to be achieved: only dreamt of.

Any not familiar with the Bayreuth Festivals, I would highly recommend you research them.
