It only covers tuition, It does not cover lab fees, any extra fees for online classes, or fees the university may impose. However the university does have scholarships that can help you pay for housing in addition to what you recieve from Bright Futures (and they're pretty easy to qualify for). Thus you are NOT screwed :)

Try thinking your question in different words. I say this because most scholarships are not geared to specific schools but rather to specific areas of study or to specific minorities or income levels.

If you have a job talk with your manager and see if there are any scholarships offered by the company you work for.

There are literally thousands of different scholarships you can get. The key is to ask for as many as you possibly can. Get a book or two and do lots of research online. Keep yourself organized.

Set aside some time each day to do the following:

locate 10 new scholarships you could be eligable for. Of those 10 decide which have the most potential to get you money for the least amount of work. If you have to write a 5000 word essay for a $100 scholarship that all kids with single parents are eligible for is not likely to help. But one that requires 3 letters of recommendation and a 1000 word essay that is very specific to who can enter and you are eligible is well worth it.

Apply for at least 1 scholarship.

I think your drive is fantastic, but maybe you should relax and enjoy yourself while you're still 14-15 and ride out the storm. 1-2 years wait isn't that long, especially at your age. Apply for as many scholarships as you can get your hands on when you're old enough. :)

If the scholarship come from a private group, such as Lions Club or Rotary Club, then yes, you can use that scholarship anywhere.

If it's a scholarship from the state of Florida or a Florida college, then no, it has to be used in-state or at the school it came from.
