Secondary School Scholarships

Veronica Said:

Which secondary school in Singapore offers scholarship for foreigners?

We Answered:

Well, I think that the only scholarship applicable for foreigners is the ASEAN scholarship. This scholarship isn't offered by schools. It is actually part of an ASEAN plan to reward students. If you are planning to do so for the study term next year, it is too late as the application is already over by June. Anyway, you can do so if you are going to be in Form 1,3 or 6 the coming year.

Well, you can check out the link below: http://www.moe.gov.sg/aseanscholarships/

But believe it is damn hard. It was already hard in the previous year but I heard from last year, things has gotten worse as the goverment is getting stricter. Only 30 people has gotten for the test, I do not know about the interview though.

Be prepared although there is only 2 papers: english and mathematics/IQ. It is really challenging.

Even if you unsure of what to do, just try your luck. Best of Luck!

secondary scholarships in USA?

We Answered:

You must submit your grades from your current school in order to apply, but there are some need-based and some merit-based scholarships available at American secondary schools. American schools are not on an exam system like many Asian and European school systems, so admission and scholarships are determined by a variety of factors. Test scores, grades, extracurricular involvement, community service, and interviews all matter. Go to this link: http://www.boardingschoolreview.com/sear… . Search for schools that give scholarships. Then visit the websites of those schools for details on the scholarship.

If you are not a native speaker of English, it could be quite difficult to get a scholarship. The competition can be pretty intense among American students, and you will probably be at a disadvantage. Check out the Prep School Admissions Forum at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com for more info on applying to boarding schools.
