Single Mother Scholarships

Lorraine Said:

Where can a single mother find grants/scholarships to go back to school?

We Answered:

Since you already have a bachelors degree, your options are limited to loans. even scholarships to grad students are rare these days. Scholarships are given out on the basis of merit, which is something you accomplish like a high undergrad GPA or a high MCAT score. All those other things you listed aren't likely to get you anything, considering you already have a bachelor's degree as well.

You should apply for grad school and contact the fin aid office at that school to see what scholarships if any they offer. But honestly, if you can't afford to live working full time, I don't see how you are going to make it going to grad school as well. Perhaps now isn't the right time for you to go back.

african single mother needing scholarship for MBA?

We Answered:

Many graduate programs waive tuition and fees and often provide stipends for working as research or teaching assistant, as well as health insurance and other benefits.

However, the MBA is one exception. Given the significantly improved earning potential you will get after earning the MBA, many schools are reluctant to give you scholarships. If you take an MBA in the United States, make sure you are eligible for Federal loans. They are worth it in the long run if that's what you need to improve your earning power.

Single mother scholarships/grants? I'm a NON Profit entrepreneur?

We Answered:

You have a daughter and income so you should be considered independent and NOT required to list your folks income on the fafsa (federal financial aid) application. Be sure when you do it for next year you answer the dependency questions correctly so you aren't listing your parents income.

You could get financial aid even in the form of grants because you are low income single mother.

Fernando Said:

I am a single mother of two are there any scholarships or assistance I am eligiable for?

We Answered:

Make an appointment with your financial aid office at your college and "pick their brain" they are very helpful. Also do a web search for your course of study with scholarship behind it. For example Nursing scholarships, or (State you live in) Nursing Scholarships. I have found a ton of information that way. Just be prepared to fill out tons of paperwork and write essays for them, also check the deadlines. I hope this helps!

im looking for single mother scholarships- any help?

We Answered:

There are many scholarship opportunities available, although I don't know any specific to single mothers. However, if you plan on attending a career or vocations school, the Imagine America Foundation may be able to help. They deal specifically with scholarships for those attending career colleges, and even offer tuition assistance to adults pursing online education.

I hope this helps you out, good luck!
