playing travel is a great place to start, scouts dont look at high school games as much as they do travel, and if you have a school in mind then take a visit to that school and talk to the scout a little and see if you can get him to come out and watch you play

Start by asking your high school or league soccer coach.

You can also start by looking at the lists of schools with the championship teams, which will be more likely to offer scholarships.

Your coach should be able to tell you the proper way of establishing contact with the college soccer coaches. If you go outside the rules, you can lose a year of eligibility.

first of all, where you from?

I know my coach goes to England every year to watch a showcase of all English players that wants to go to America and play college soccer. We currently have like 6 English guys on the team.
Two years ago there was a Scottish player on the team, he was in a.....---not sure but i think they was a program that he was in for players that wants to come play in america and my coach got to him from there.
The best way would be to look for good colleges that you want to go to. Go to their website and there are recruiting forms you can fill out. You can contact the coach from there. Since you're from over sea, you can send in the coach a videotape of yourself playing instead of a tryout.

There are many colleges in America. Top level are NCAA DI schools like Wakeforest, Chapel Hill, Duke, Boston College.
Then there are DII and DIII schools.
NAIA should be the best choice for you b/c they recruit more international players. Top colleges like Lindsey Wilson have a full roster of international players and a Junior Varsity squad of Americans. NCAA schools recruit all or most of the good American players so NAIA usually go out to recruit internationally.
