How Can I overcome being Homesick? We Answered:
communicate with family often. Keep pictures of family and friends from home so that you can see them when you miss them. Try to keep busy and make new friends. You can join groups and do activities that you enjoy to keep your mind off of home. I hope this helps. I was homesick my first year away too.Kenneth Said:

The best on that list is the University of MN / Expensive Tuition / but offers some scholarshipsFor scholarships you should look at South Dakota school of mines and technology or South Dakota State. They both have cheaper tuition for a comparable education.

Which Universities should I apply to?We Answered:
While you're absolutely right, in part - you should apply to unis that fit your overall SAT scores - you also should reach for some unis that match only your math SAT score, and ignore your overall SAT score when you do so. I suggest this because, for some unis, for an engineering major, the math SAT score is weighed more heavily than the CR and writing are; and because you're an international student, so that likely has impacted your CR and writing scores. At at least some unis, it's your math score that will matter. So in addition to unis which match your overall SAT score, you should also apply to some that match only your math. Some of the schools I'm about to suggest are already on your list, but I list them here to reinforce that I think you should apply: Rochester Institute of Technology, Drexel U, Colorado School of Mines, U Delaware, UMass Amherst, Auburn U, Clemson U, Northeastern U, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, U Iowa, U Arizona, Arizona State, U Colorado Boulder, U Florida, U Utah, Kettering U, Cal State Poly San Louis Obispo, Cal State Poly Pomona, Bradley U, Manhattan College. These are all considered good engineering schools, and I do think you stand a shot.
When you apply, please combine some affordable choices with those that are less affordable, but which offer financial aid to international students. So before you apply to any uni, email them and ask if they offer aid to international students, and if they do, how you need to apply for such aid.

I don't know where to go to college, help?We Answered:
Yeah, either get your boyfriend to go to a college elsewhere or don't worry about it so much. There are no guarantees, but (and I hate to sound insensitive) there is a tiny chance of you guys making it through college. I don't know anyone that stayed with their high school relationship the whole way through. Here's what you need to figure out:
- Do you want to be by a city? How large of a city? Do want to be IN the city and have an urban campus or would you rather be just outside?
- How large of a school are you looking to attend? Would you rather be in a tiny school (< 1000 people), small (> 1000, but < 2500), medium, large, huge (>100,000)?
- What are your favorite activities? How important is it to you to continue them while at school? For example, do you like to ski? Would you rather be near a beach?
- Do you like sports? Playing or watching?
Those are things you need to answer and then you can actually pick a school. They're tough questions, but not impossible. I highly advise you to "visit" schools, both for the day and to set up overnight stays to get a real feel for campus life.
If you want your boyfriend near you, why don't you both look at schools in the northeast (Boston, maybe) or California? There are tons of schools, so you wouldn't even have to attend the same one.
