Tennessee Lottery Scholarship

Tammy Said:

Pell Grant at Southern Adventist University??

We Answered:

Your EFC is too high to get a Pell grant. Your ACT and GPA won't matter. With an efc of this amount you will likely qualify for parent loans (PLUS) and a federal Unsubsidized Stafford loan in the amount of 3,500 this year if you are a freshman.

You need to apply for lots of scholarships or make sure your folks are willing to cough up the....17+17= approx 30K ... a year to attend... for the entire four years you will be at this school.

And be sure your folks are willing to do this for four years as well (or cosign for you) because you aren't going to get enough in federal aid to cover this school. Private student loans are evil and you and your folks need to know what you are getting into. There is nothing worse than going for a couple of years and having to drop out bc you can't afford it any longer. You might consider going to a cheaper school your first two years and transfering in as a jr.

what are some good ideas for a college?

We Answered:

Are you likely to be recruited for softball? Only D-1 schools can offer sports scholarships and they usually look for state-champion caliber athletes. Your coach should know what your chances are for getting an athletic scholarship. Or you can go to the NCAA website and read about college athletic scholarships and recruiting. There are rules about colleges contacting athletes.
