What do I need to do to transfer to a Texas college from a Mississippi one?

We Answered:

Each state has its'wn residency reuirements. You can search the requirements for Texas either at a University site or the state's own site. Financial aid is generally the same for most universities and based on need. Most colleges and universities require that you submit an annual fafsa. Again, you need to check with each university's financial aid office for requirements. If you hope to transfer in the Fall of 07, you should be taking serious looks at schools you want to attend. You will need a transcript from Ole Miss and some credits may not transfer. State schools are more likely to charge an out-of state tuition than private schools. Good luck.
You seem to have a good GPA and apparently do well in school. You might want to inform Ole Miss that your family is moving. maybe they would offer you some inducement to stay, such as a scholarship or grant.

I seriously doubt some will offer a 10,000 scholarship and the criteria you have to be a victim of sexual abuse. There are local centers that provide people some assistance to get back on their feet. Start there....
