Go to the DMV and read the book. The questions are common sense questions. They usually ask you about 20 questions and you have to get 17 right. Most of the questions they ask are questions like:

What does this sign mean?
What does a red light mean?
What does a gree light mean?
What's the speed limit on a highway?

The questions are so easy! And you get to pass a few times if you don't know that answer.

Believe me when I tell you that you need to get your license as soon as possible. I was 25 when I got mine because like you I was scared but you know what it's the best thing I ever did. I LOVE having my license. It means freedom! I can go anywhere I want with out depending on anyone for a ride. When I get mad or bored I just get up and go out. If I need something at the store I just go!! Believe me it will be the best thing you ever did in your life.

I'm from Long Island but since the test is a state wide thing and not a city thing, its basically the same test. First off, go to the nyc dmv website and they have a bunch of practice stuff and info on their. You should also get the book they put out that tells you all you need to know for the test. You can get that from the dmv or from one of your friends or an older sibling, perhaps? The questions are relativly easy, such as what kind of sign is this, what do you when..., what factors go into your blood alchol level. Plus you can get a few wrong and still pass. Good luck :-)
