Good Ways To Study
Martin Said:
Any good ways to study Spanish vocabulary? We Answered:
I am in Spanish right now and I make flash cards all of the time. I get index cards and cut them in half so I don't waste as many cards. It is the best thing I have done to learn the words. I put them on a ring and take them everywhere. I do them frontwards and backwards... saying them in English and Spanish both. Flash cards are definitely the way to go, as your teacher suggested.Rene Said:
What are good ways to study for tests? We Answered:
Math: Do practice problems and have someone check them for you, memorize formulas.Science: Depends on the type of science. For biology, memorize from your notes or textbook! For chemistry and physics memorize but also do practice math problems since both of these sciences involve lots of math. Mnemonics help too (mnemonics are language devices that you can use to help memorize things, this goes for all subjects. Ex: MAIN is the causes of World War I - Militarization, Alliances, imperialism, nationalism).
History: A good strategy besides memorizing is coming up with reasonable questions you think will be on the test or a re likely to be on it and to answer those questions.
Lunch: Memorize or you'll fail your table manners exam (kidding)

What are good ways to study for finals and midterms? We Answered:
Study everyday. Don't leave it all to the end. Form study groups with other serious students and discuss issues and topics that give problems. You can learn a lot from your peers. Here are a few links that will give you a lot of suggestions. Best of luck.Cory Said:
Does anyone have any good interesting ways to study for semester exams? We Answered:
You are going through what students have gone through forever, so you are not alone, and you will get through it. I'm glad you are taking a little break from the studying right now. And try to relax for a few minutes and take a few deep breaths and get a perspective on this. Get yourself a snack and a drink of water or juice or coffee, and maybe go for a short walk to clear your head. Eat a peppermint candy or drink peppermint tea - the peppermint tends to make you more alert. One good strategy is to study with other serious students. Can you arrange a study group for the toughest subject before the test? That might help. Or talk to another student about it tomorrow and get ideas about what you should focus on. Pay particular attention to topics the teacher really focused on.
Since your finals don't start until Wednesday you still have a few days to focus on them. Get a goodnight's sleep before each of your tests. Make sure you eat breakfast each of those days. Answer every question even if you are not certain. Take a guess. Don't leave blanks - educated guesses are usually better than blank paper and usually get at least a few marks.
Take a few minutes and browse through these links I have included. There are numerous similar sites that will help you develop study skills, organizational skills and so on, but start with these for now and use some of the ideas over the next week and use them throughout the next term so that you won't feel so pressured when exam time rolls around again.
Also many questions have been asked here on Yahoo Answers about studying for exams so when you need a break from studying do a search here on this site for them and you should get quite a variety of suggestions. Often just feeling that you are being proactive and doing something about the situation will make it seem less overwhelming.
Best of luck with the exams. Don't stay up all night studying. Being well rested for each exam will be best.
I hope these thoughts are of some help.

What are some very good ways to study a foreign language? We Answered:
I think it's awesome that you are interested in languages.Try to make friends with people who are native speakers and practice with them.
I hope that you get the opportunity to study abroad. That's one of the most enriching experiences you can have as a student. Are you in college now? Talk to someone in the international office, I didn't think it was an option for me but I looked into it and went on to study in Mexico. :) It was a very wonderful experience.
