Geography personal statement... what do you think?

We Answered:

I would say this is a solid Personal Statement, It is very detailed and extensive, and all around much longer than most in my opinion, this clearly shows you've done a great amount of work and signals to readers that you care about what you do, good job!

Richard Said:

If I earned my bachelor's degree in New York, can I study abroad and earn my masters in Dublin?

We Answered:

Possibly, you will need to contact the graduate program there. In America, we have two years of general education requirements and two years of major requirements. In Europe, they have a higher system of high school, so their Bachelors degree of three years of just major requirements. Thus some schools will not accept the American Bachelors, degree, and some will under the condition that you complete a qualifying year of coursework. But, there are some schools that will accept you if your grades are exceptional and you have a lot of coursework in the area. Europe also counts work experience, so that, volunteer, and intern work in the field would help. So you will need to contact the international admissions office. Some schools are fine, some aren't, I am giving up the majority of Masters programs and just waiting for my Ph.D. there, much less of a hassle.

How can I switch from a Student to a visitor Visa-- UK?

We Answered:

No need to go all the way back to the States; just leave within a week after your course finishes, maybe for a weekend to Amsterdam or Paris, then return and on your U.S. passport you may be granted leave to remain for up to six months for tourist purposes by a UK Border Agency Officer..

I'm so depressed at school......I'm in 3rd doing my junior cert(in Ireland) and I get grade average A+.....?

We Answered:

So what you're saying is, you want a new path in life?
You don't want to go to school (basically because of all the drama, and intense amount of work)? And you want to move on to collage?

Well, since you're in Ireland, it'd be best if you talked to people around your area (parents, friends, family, counselors, an education program).

Also, honestly, I'd suggest just finish your education (without trying to jump to a higher level). You're going great now, but what if you start doing really bad by changing your educational path (since it'd get harder)? Well, anyway, in the end it's your life. You'd know best =)

If it's boredom (of living the same old boring life) you're worried about, then find something new to do. Like, get a hobby (sports?). You're already smart, so I'm sure you'll do fine if you joined some after school clubs! That would probably solve your boredom problems.

Well anyway, hope that helped.
And good luck!
