Arlene Said:

What is the best Ontario university for International Relations/ Global Studies/ International Studies...?

We Answered:

Just spend the money traveling the world and reading various books.
You can find what books to read by looking in the bibliography of your would-of-been text books.

Marcia Said:

What are some good universities for international studies/relations?

We Answered:

Georgetown is really the best choice if you have the credentials (top GPA, SAT scores, etc)

Also, try at George Washington University, American University, and also NYU. They all have excellent programs. The former two are included because of the geographical location. And I know NYU has a good program.

I hear Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon has a good program. Also Mount Holyoke College has an excellent department as well.

Cheryl Said:

What is the difference between International Studies, Relations, and Affairs?

We Answered:

The name of the program makes no difference. International Studies, International Relations, and International Affairs are all the same thing.

The reputation of the faculty and the program makes all the difference, however.

Research the ranking of all programs (NOT the universities as a whole, but those specific departments), and apply to the best schools to which you think you can reasonably gain admission. Make sure there are faculty with international reputations in your specific area.

After you have received offers, weigh each program by reputation, and by amount of support you are offered (fellowships, assistantships, etc.), and make your decision on that basis.

Best wishes to you.

Arthur Said:

What is the different between international relations major and international studies major?

We Answered:

little to no difference. I'm am in graduate school for international relations right now and i enjoy it. I included 2 links for you. Seton Hall, school of diplomacy and international relations and Univ. of Denver, school of international studies. Both are excellent and you can see that both offer nearly identical classes. Some other great schools include Pitt, Columbia, American, George Washington, Tufts, Georgetown, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, etc. Good luck
