Studying abroad in the Summer in Spain?

We Answered:

Academic Study Associates has a study abroad program in Barcelona that is in a dorm setting rather than a homestay situation. Spanish classes take place in the morning at all different levels and there are cultural electives in the afternoon. The program has a focus on learning about responsibility so there is a lot of freedom to choose what you want to do in the evening in town, etc.

I worked with their England program last summer and all the students on the program loved it!

Good luck on your search.

First Timer Plane Questions Europe Foreign?

We Answered:

If you buy a round trip ticket and change the return date, expect to pay at least $200 in change fees, plus if the new ticket is more expensive, you will also be paying that. Buy directly with the airline for the most flexibility. I also like www.kayak.com for price comparison, you will probably find the 'discounted' student rates are the same as all the other rates. If you want to delay your flight, make sure you cancel your return flight before the scheduled flight takes off (I made that costly mistake).

Try to change your return flight about a month before you fly. Probably not reasonable for you, but be aware you could be facing a much higher cost just days before a flight, but also possible it will not be any higher.

Fly coach! You are talking about a few thousand dollars different, or about $150 an hour to upgrade. Unless you are 6'6" or something, not worth the money. Also your flight will be much closer to 8 hours.

Go to www.hostelworld.com to get an idea of how much hostels cost in the places you want to go. With the current exchange rate, even cheap places aren't so cheap. You can get a eurorail pass so it makes transportation very cheap. Once you are in Spain you will probably learn a lot more about vacationing in Europe.

Do I need to get divorced ?

We Answered:

I have been to all the replies to your question. To a large extent they are right. But I have a different view.

Being an Indian male, he is under a tremendous social pressure. A home sitting, unemployed husband is like a waste and good for nothing in our society. Mentally he is sick now due to those uncalled for pressures. People may not be talking at his face but behind him, there must be a lot of talking about him being unemployed and dependent upon his wife.

So if possible:
1. Take him to a marriage councillor and try to boost up his morale so that he can feel himself worth to be your husband.
2. Try to put him in a buisness no matter how small it is and let him earn sufficient to meet his own expenses. Most probably within few months you will see a new sun rise in your life.
3. If at all this does not work, please follow what others have suggested before me. But atleast give it a try and you will be satisfied in both the conditions that you have given your the best to sustain this relationship.

All the best.

Community College????

We Answered:

Since you already know where you want those courses to be transferred to, it is best to ask an admissions counselor at Sierra College directly whether your previous coursework will transfer. They may not be familiar with the ULACIT. In that case, having a copy of the syllabi from your classes there could help Sierra College to determine the transferability and accreditation.

Discuss It!
