I don't know about this specific case, but in Islaam, when a man is interested in marrying a particular lady, he approaches the male guardian of the lady and asks for her hand in marriage. The male guardian and the lady and her family take measures to investigate the righteousness of the male and also the potential groom takes measures to ascertain the righteousness/compatibility of the potential wife.

This is usually done by contacting relatives, interviewing friends, speaking with local religious leaders, etc. Note: In Islaam, dating is forbidden as it is a means to adultery. So all of this investigation is done with the knowledge and supervision of the lady's relatives and guardians as to prevent anyone from taking advantage of a Muslim woman.

Also, forced marriages are not allowed (and are instantly invalid) in Islaam.

In my personal experience, I have oft met Islamic apostates who converted not out of (just) spite for the religion itself, but for their lack of faith in a supernatural deity.

I have explained over and over again, that knowing the existence of God is like knowing the size of the universe. Physicists say it is of infinite velocity, but that is only because the evidence proves such a speculation. Not one human being explored the universe to its infinite extent, right? Just as none of us have personally met God.

To know God, is to know the logic of believing in Him, and Him alone. The day a man creates something as beautiful as this dunya and as complex as the human beings who inhabit it, is the day I'll be convinced of atheism.

And to know Muhammad, is to know the logic of believing his prophetship--the fact that a single man could stabilize the chaotic tribalism of 6th century Arabia and recount the beautiful eloquence of the Noble Koran is more than enough to convince me that he had true, supernatural support behind him.

And never will your Lord destroy the towns (populations) until He sends to their mother town a Messenger reciting to them Our Verses. And never would We destroy the towns unless the people thereof are Zalimoon (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, oppressors and tyrants).

28 It is We Who created them, and We have made them of strong built. And when We will, We can replace them with others like them with a complete replacement.
