Well, nowhere in London is completely free of the dangers of city living. London is a massive city, and has the associated crime etc, having said that it is also a very exciting and 'happening' place- I don't want to put you off! Well, as far as colleges, there are many in and around the city, but since you don't want to be in the centre, I am assuming you want one outside of London, but near enough to travel in for a day out? I have heard that Chichester on the south coast is a good place to study drama, and is only 2 hours from London. If you want something closer, maybe try the University of Surrey in Guildford, which is only about an hour away if that. Both of these locations are safe and beautiful towns.

Try Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA
They aren't cheap....I was accepted into their Percussion Program in 2002, but I couldn't go because each Quarter was like $2,500.

The very best English school I think is Odessa Language Study Centre previously called the Oxford College. I went to their center several times while I was living in Odessa.
