I am in interested in getting an MA in Peace Studies what are the best schools for it (in the US and abroad? We Answered:
This question is a little difficult to answer, as Peace Studies is a relatively new discipline (at least for many U.S. universities). There is a good listing of them at the link below. Duke, Notre Dame, and Cornell have strong programs, as usual, and I've heard good things about Duquesne and American University, which offers a variety of approaches to the subject.Sherry Said:
what's in a usual day for a college student majoring in peace &conflict studies? We Answered:
The same as a day in any other "majors" life. Lots of classes in philosophy, history, minority studies, comparative religion, political science. You'll have requirements for the major; non violent conflict resolution strategies courses, make belief conflict where you are the peace maker and tons of public speaking courses.
It's not a very marketable major though, kinda like a BA in philosophy.

Which Art Major to become a diplomat? Political Science,Intl. Relations or Peace&conflict studies? We Answered:
Just as a layperson, I would go with the 'International Relations' major as it sounds as if it's in the middle of the two others. Bless you for wanting to work as a diplomat/ambassador :)For US colleges: http://www.utexas.edu/world/univ

Daniel Said:
Does peace and conflict studies have any merit? We Answered:
Not really...you'd be able to work for your country's government in the defense department at a sort of entry level job. You'd need a Masters to move up and become involved with policy writing, advising and briefing of the officials.
