I don't believe this is possible. For one the student loans here are done through the government and are repaid only when the students are employed. The government takes it out the monthly payment from the paycheck along with the taxes. This doesn't work outside of Australia, obviously. So, technically, if you get your degree and never work here, you never have to pay back the loan. So, I'm sure they are pretty strict that only citizens get those loans.

I believe it's pretty strict. You gotta have the money to study and to get the visa you have to prove you have enough cash to get you through.

I doubt your visa would be approved if you wrote that you needed to get a loan in Australia.

To add: You can only get a job if your visa allows you to work. Good luck on that one, I've been waiting two years...I've lodged my permanent residency visa last August, and it still has yet to be approved. I'm a US citizen with no criminal history, nothing, I'd thought it would be an easy thing.

I'd also contact your local Australian Embassy and make an appointment or at least get in email contact with them. They will likely be able to answer many of your questions.

This may be a long shot, but why don't you apply to a university in your own country that offers international studies. The college I attended had a program set up that you took out loans to pay for the local university, then they paid the fee for you to go to the international university. So, you'd a regular loan then. I know that wouldn't permanent, but it would be a step in the right direction.

My fiance majored in IT, and currently works in IT at a university, I'll ask him when he's awake, lol, if he has any other tips. Good luck. I do know that the Australian government is sooooooooooo slow in approving visas so if you do go it on your own, make certain you apply awhile in advance. 6 months and counting for mine.

Oh and before I go, you'll need to save up for the visa too. They are pretty costly. We've spent 7k on my spousal visa.

The Australian National University in Canberra is consistently ranked as the best university in the country, and they offer a very good Master of Accounting course.

If you're looking for an uncrowded city, then Canberra is your best bet! There are also a lot of employment opportunities in the ACT, and not just with the public service (you may have trouble getting employment with the public service until you get PR) - the territory has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country.
