Study Abroad in New Zealand?

We Answered:

Legend, please don't ever ever call it Victoria College. In NZ a College is a High School.

As for your question. You will have no problem. People in NZ are generally very friendly and easy to talk to, just relax and be yourself and you will soon find yourself with a group of likeminded friends. Wellington is like that.

Have fun and don't worry about it.

I'm a Victoria University Graduate, and I lived in Wellington for a total of 8 years. I think of it as my home town in NZ. But I live in Asia now.

In spite of what you might think, Nzer's really like Americans and Texans are kind of close cousins with the strong Scottish and Irish connections. So just enjoy.

Gladys Said:

should i study abroad in australia or new zealand?

We Answered:

Studying in New Zealand or Australia mostly comes down to personal preference -- unless you're looking for a specific program only offered by one or the other, both countries offer excellent educational and cultural experiences.

It's important to note that compared to schools in the United States, universities in New Zealand and Australia have a greater emphasis on individual work. You'll still have to attend classes, of course, but much of the grading is based on one or two papers, instead of many smaller assignments. On the other hand, there usually aren't general-education requirements, so it takes less time on average to earn a degree, since your work is concentrated on your major.

In the end, you have to decide what you think is cooler: Hanging out down under, or visiting Middle-Earth.
