Study And Work In Australia
Vanessa Said:
Study, Work, and Live in Australia - Perth or Melbourne? We Answered:
Perth is a small city. It is the most isolated capital city in the world. We have a large Asian community and we get many many Asian students at uni here.Perth is pretty safe. of course, nowhere is completely crime free so we still have out moments.
I believe we are a very friendly city. I think this is due to the fact that we are isolated. As long as you are prepared to make an effort to go out and meet people (and I don;t mean partying since this is obviously not your thing!) you will make friends easily. We love sport here so if you have an interest in sport that will make it easy. But there are plenty of other clubs to join if this is not a hobby. Whatever Uni you attend will have loads of ideas!
We also have almost perfect weather here! We love the outdoor lifestyle - swimming, surfing, BBQ's.
The rest of WA is beautiful also. We have (I htink anyway!) the best coastline in the country! (Although there are camels up north so that may put you off visiting!!!!)
I have never lived in melbourne, only visited a few times. It is probably a more......trendy city? Obviously bigger than Perth so has more of everything. It is cold there, but I would think that is it's main problem. In the east you are closer to other places to visit than here in Perth.
I would think that size would be the main difference. We in Perth have everything Melbourne has to offer, they just have more of it! Perth has great restaurants, great shopping, great peole and a great lifestyle. Once you are here you will learn where to go to enjoy doing whatever it is you want to do.

is there a school in australia that offers study and work?We Answered:
Australia doesnt have anything like that. There are apprenticeships (like carpentry etc) but that is all paid work and you go to TAFE one day a week.Marsha Said:
My son is in final year of diploma in Mech Engg, will he get visa in Australia for further study and work permWe Answered:
I am not very familiar with present system in India. At one time VJTI in Bombay had both degree and diploma program, if his diploma is equivalent to VJTI then in USA he can do MS in approximately 3 years. He will need to do about 2 years of prerequisites.
Your other option is to have him do B.S first at VJTI it use to take a year more, then go abroad, I am against student leaving their country without, at least having a basic degree or and being mature enough to go to a different cultural setting, there is something to be said about, maturity by age, 19 in most case is too young to be on his own, in strange culture.
But as an educationalist you know your child much batter, each child is different, and he may be much matured for his age so, give it a try.
Do a search on Internet and see what shows up.
Contact Australian, universities and colleges and also embassy on the latest immigration info. Most of the up to date info is on the Internet so let the fingers do the searching.

PS
Parents some times have a tendency to push their child, that is very good for them but there is a limite to every thing, so just guide him let mim do all the work of finding things and showing it to you, so that, you can make a joint infoormed decision.
