Study In Poland

Ruby Said:

American that studies in POland and whant to study again in the U.S(needs help)?

We Answered:

Sure you can, and no you will not need to take the TOEFL, but if the school that you want to go to requires SAT II in Writing you will have to take that. About scholarship, you can get a school scholarship (if you are really smart) or Financial Aid from the government where you will need to fill out FAFSA. If you don't have any income from the States then you will need to show some source of income because you will need to live off something.

Where in Poland should my son go to University?

We Answered:

There are some good universities in Poland for vocal performance. The two that I would reccomend are Krakow Academy of Music and Warsaw Academy of Music. I think the Krakow one is better, and for one semester he will have a lot of fun in the city and the environment. Hope he has fun!

what is the best way to immigrate from Poland to Malaysia?

We Answered:

Firstly, both of you could get married either in Malaysia (prefered choice for employment pass for foreign husband) or in Poland. Regardless of his qualification or his status as your husband/fiance, he would be allowed entry to Malaysia on a social visit pass & visa (likely up to 3 months renewable) while pending his PR application. The biggest hurdle would be obtaining the PR status which if you are lucky could be done in a couple of months or it could take you years. There were instances where applicants has waited more than 12 years and have yet to receive their PR status and these applicants are professionals as well. Some others got it within a couple of months and they are just ordinary blue collar. Don't ask me how the Malaysian Govt process each applicants. It baffles me as well.

Since your fiance is still studying, I doubt "Malaysia - my second home programme" would be applicable because it is meant for couples who are not Malaysian but would like to reside in Malaysia.

A working pass would require your fiance to be able to secure a job in Malaysia first.

Alternatively, your fiance could purchase a property in Malaysia (is more expensive than if you were to purchase because he is a foreigner) and that would allow him to have a longer social visit pass, or he could set up his own business in Malaysia. Either methods won't guarantee a PR but would enable him to stay longer in Malaysia (a longer duration social visit pass). The PR application takes time as I have stated earlier. Your hassle would be the constant need to meet the immigration officers pretty frequently to extend his social visit pass. Hope this helps. For more info http://www.imi.gov.my

Can I stay in Poland for 90 days after my visa expires?

We Answered:

No, you don't get an additional 90 days as a tourist if you're there on a visa and it expires. The rule is that you can visit for 90 days in any 180 day period without a visa as a US citizen. Since you've already been there for more than 90 days on your visa, you would need to leave the entire Schengen area for 90 days before you could legally return as a tourist.

study arts and humanities in poland?

We Answered:

Jagiellonian University aka Uniwersytet Jagiellonski is "regular" university. It offers science (e.g pharmacy, biotechnology, neurobiology etc) medicine and human studies (History of Art, Law, Psychology, History, Ethnology etc).

If you want to studying painting, Graphic Arts, Stage Design etc, go to Jan Matejko Academy Of Fine Art in Krakow. But to this Academy is hard to get.

Polish univeristies are similar (offer similar type of education). Except MISH, in Poland, are not multi-cours human studies (I don't know how to say- you can study History of Art or Philosophy, but you can not study both these courses as one- you can study them together, but independently ).

If you don't speak Polish well, it will be hard for you studying in Poland, but I may be wrong.

Full-time studies in Poland, for Polish people are for free (not tuition). Not full- time studies cost about 1000-3000 Zlotych (PLN) for semester/term.
