Have you considered getting your MBA from a business school in Spain? Spanish MBAs rank really high in international rankings. Business schools such as Instituto de Empresa (IE), ESADE and IESE are regarded as some of the top business schools in the world. If you are still interested in MBA programs in the US, most MBAs offer summer abroad programs in many locations around the world including Spain. is it a good idea for a Mexican to study in Spain? We Answered:
I hear you, im latino to and it sounds like you are to. And if you remember our past with Spain it kind of makes sense right? I mean we did rebel against them and not just Mexico. America aided with the Islands.Think about it this way. It sounds like you been around for awhile here, i been here since i was two after i had to leave South America during the war (Peru). But since you been around for awhile im sure youve seen the jokes that americans poke at the British in the movies and in life. And Vice-versa. Its kind of the same with us and them over there. Im sure you know how the Spaniards came over here and tried (and mostly did) take everything in Latin America. My family has always had a bad opinion of Spaniards, mostly because of the general idea that they think themselves superior to us. Kind of like the idea the Brits think themselves better then Americans. After all we kicked the spaniards back over there, and Americans kicked the British back over.Like most Stereotypes its probably not totally true but hey stereotypes had to start with some truth right?
Obviously the idea comes from the fact that not to long ago they had Nobles and Kings and Queens. And we obviously back then had no structure like that. And also the main thing is they came over for land and gold and to spread the word of god in their way.
But ya know in truth i have known One Spaniard family in all of my life. And they were a ok family, they werent exactly nice but they werent exactly mean just because i was Latino.
The strange thing is though that whether your from Mexico or Chile you consider yourself latino or at least hispanic in general terms, but they consider themselves something totally different.
I think its our differences that inspire their the stereotypes and initial reaction of us. along with our history. I think in terms of being unfriendly towards us. I think thats their initial reaction, kind of like the American feeling in the last few years towards people from mexico is that they are ALL coming over illegally and how the white feeling towards black people use to be, and the american feeling towards the Brits and all that. But i think its just a initial reaction, its been awhile since the wars with Spain and old feelings are dieing down. a lot of people these days dont get how grudges can go on so long but i think most are well founded and shouldnt be things that should just be forgotten.
Anyways, the point is, they may initially react the way we think they will towards a latino(a) but in the end i think theyll see how similar you are to them. I mean what separates us from them isnt (much) a skin color, or a language or a food. Its our past. And our Futures.
And ive found alot of latino families have kind of a rough feeling towards Spain. Kind of the way Italians have a North/South Division that has been going on for hundreds of years. The southerners have felt"Picked on" by the Northerners, like they think they are better then the Southerners. At least thats the story i have heard from them.
So yeah, they probably will be unfriendly to you at first (A spaniard in Mexico City probably wouldnt get the red carpet right?) but i think most people who have a soul will see you for you with time.
