Joshua Said:

Do all parents have such unrealistic, academic expectations for their children?

We Answered:

All parent don't have the same expectations for their children. I think that is a common misconception because when a kid feels they are being pressured by their parents, they feel like everyone is like that.

Truth be told, some parents are ridiculous with the expectations they have for their children. Others don't care how well their child does (thanks to not caring about education or just not caring about their child) while others are content that their child is at least doing well and not failing with Fs and Ds.

I think the reason your parents are constantly on you about your grades is because they either can't see where you are coming from and don't understand that the teachers you had were not great, or they can't understand why you went from this straight A student to As, Bs, and a once in a while C. It can be frustrating, but you just have to tell yourself that you are doing the best you can.

Another reason for this could be because they are planning on you going to an Ivy League school and will need straight As to get in. They could possibly see you becoming very, very successful in the future and feel now that what you are doing is not good enough, just because they want you to do the definition of best (which is all As, perfect attendance, and all that jazz).

Either way, you need to tell them to just chill. When I was in high school, I got the same grades you are getting for the same reason. My parents were cool about it because they understood why it was happening. I don't know if you have tried explaining to them your predicament, but you should if you haven't.

It could also be that they want to showcase you to all their friends and other family members and say that their son is doing this well. This happened in my family with my cousin. It was annoying but you deal. Either way, just sit down with your parents and say you are not failing, you are doing well for your situation, and when you get to college, it will be brand new and better. It's your life, you decide what to do. Just remember they are doing this out of love because they only want the best for you.

IS that an ADD? Or what???

We Answered:

your wisdom is disturbing

you have learned how things happen

and you live accordingly

continue to learn how things happen

you act accordingly, then you forget

you learn how things happen and you do not dismiss the single principle as total nonsense

your work is not futitle

THESE ARE LIES: (5)

any principle that does not get you love or money or power must be useless

a silent mind is a dumb mind

selflessness is no way to get ahead

virtue is for fools

kindness is weakness

this is a problem for you: because your only allegiance is to how things happen

people who do not see how things happen naturally think your behaviour has no basis in reality

your silence and your manner are disturbing

your motives seem obscure

you are hard to figure out

the problem comes back to the fact thatThe Principle is not a thing and cannot be defined

that does not make sense to some people; it makes perfectly good sense to you

it is not easy to understand a person whose foundation is invisible

He got up
rebuked the wind and said to the waves
"Quiet! Be Still! "Then the wind died down and it was completely
calm

he said to His disciples,
"Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"

They were terrified and asked each other,
"Who is this?
Even the wind and the waves obey Him!"

Gertrude Said:

Could someone help proofread my paper?

We Answered:

You're off to a very good start here, but there's one thing holding you back that is making your paper read very awkwardly. You do a lot of tense shifting, and instead of sticking to a single tense and changing only when needed, there are multiple tenses that seem awkward at times. Try to keep things that happened in the past in the past tense, and only things that are happening in the present. Just a few awkward moments here and there, but easily fixed.

The only other thing I'd say is minor, and that is just switching up the sentence structures in the first two paragraphs. You start with "Autumn" or "she" a lot, and it'd be nice to see some change ups for better flow.

Nice job so far, and good luck! And don't rely on Word to help you. It's an algorithm that fails more often than not. Always better to double check yourself.

help please?

We Answered:

i can tell you from personal experience that my students do a lot better learning their math facts when i let them play math games on the computer rather than use flash cards because the computer is something familar and the games are interesting. they are having so much fun they don't realize they're learning.

Surviving and learning calculus?

We Answered:

If you know algebra and basic trigonometric functions then you will be fine through differential calculus. Calc 1 is not exceptionally hard. Its no different than algebra, but it has a slight twist that makes it fun and very interesting - and a very powerful tool to know.
