Study Tips For Exams

Johnny Said:

what are some good study tips to study for exams?

We Answered:

Write all your notes out.
Read through them (do not try to memorize) then put them away. Do this at least 4 times a day and before the end of the week, you will know it all.

Another way: get 3X5 cards on a spiral. Put the question on the front, answer on the back. You have flash cards. Read through them 4 times a day and you will know your stuff.

Works for me, I'm a college student and teacher. I use the method and teach it to my students.

Nursing exams looking for study tips?

We Answered:

Right of my alley. When I was studying for nursing exams, first and foremost, form a study group. this is so important and you will find that you will NOT ever and I mean never forget what you did. You use word association. One time in nursing school, we were going to have an exam on the brain and function of the different area. Well, one of the girls in my study group was named Pam. We trying to think of something for Pons Medulla and Pam, who was a little overweight, said Pam's belly, for pons medulla. After we all laughed, it stuck all theses years, 30 to be exact. Of course, the Pons Medulla is responsible for respiration and when Pam said that, she was breathing with her diaphragm. You won't forget I promise. so if you haven't already formed a study group, do so. You will get such high grades. I graduated with honors, 3rd in my class and Pam graduated with honors as well. It's worth it and it's fun at the same time you're learning Good luck on your exam any other words you need help with, let me know and I'll give some tips on those.
PS. I bet you don't forget Pam's belly now and associate it with the pons medulla and breathing.

Make sure you have all the stationary required

Do not be late for exams

Asterisk important sections that your teacher may mention to be in the exam

Use mind maps to help learn things

Do extra research if you lack understanding

Make a timetable of everything you have to work on so that large amounts of work look small andby doing so, the work load will not seem so daunting.

Take notes of your work

Rewrite what you’ve written 5 times with 10 minute intervals between each write

Write essays and short paragraphs on what you read the day before
Check that all the work you’ve done as revision… is correct and accurate

Talk about some of the topics with other people

Take 5 minute breaks between studying, for instance: 5 minutes for every half hour or hour. During these have something to eat and drink and do some body exercises to keep your brain awake

Do not cheat for it steals what you know and hides it from you and then you won’t know what you know when the time for the exams come.

Treat every revision sheet in exam conditions.

Be persistant

Make learning fun like creating min-knowledge building games for yourself

Don’t give up so easily, a man who sits and dreams of success does not gain anything from it, but a man who actually puts in the effort to achieve will be successful

Listen to your teachers and take notes from them too. Ask them for advise when you are stuck. Feel free to ask questions as well, don’t be shy if you don’t know something and are too scared it might sound stupid.

Have fun and do the best you can! Feel Free to look for more tips too - be open to ideas.

Do you have any studying tips for exams?

We Answered:

Prepare crib sheets. Write all the information regarding the tests onto the smallest pieces of paper you can. Once done now copy the same information onto even smaller pieces of paper. Now even smaller, and keep repeating until the crib notes are as abbreviated and small as you can manage. Once finished you can now just throw them away. With all the copying you can now draw on the information from memory. If necessary just recreate the crib notes in the exam booklet for reference.

Study Tips, for final exams this week!?

We Answered:

I read my notes out loud into a tape recorder and then played the tape day and night. in the car mowing the yard.... But it takes a while to read notes out loud. Perhaps flash cards with questions on one side answer on the other.
Some college instructors (back in the day) had sample test in the library in the reference section.
Vocabulary was 75 percent of the test back in the day. (1980's)
GOOD LUCK

Any study tips for law school exams?

We Answered:

I hope you didn't wait until now to start studying! If so, it's probably too late to learn it all. Hopefully you've done all your work and have good notes from your classes. The best thing to do, I found, was to make an outline of each class on my PC. Then print it and bind it. Outlines included case summaries, definitions, etc., anything important. Each class, per semester resulted in an outline maybe 50-100 typed pages. Use a study guide like Gilbert's or whatever to help if you want. You will learn as much preparing the outline as you will going back over it studying.
