Can 'Post-study work' be included in the 5 years when applying for Indefinite leave to remain (UK)?We Answered:
The Post Study Work category does not count towards the waiting time for ILR.http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workin… ..
To apply for ILR you must be in one of the following categories:

The five year continuous time in the United Kingdom can include any time you spent under any of the following immigration categories you were in before tier 2 of the points-based system:
• a member of the operational ground staff of an overseas-owned airline,
• a minister of religion, missionary or member of a religious order,
• a qualifying work permit holder,
• a representative of an overseas newspaper, news agency or broadcasting organisation,
• a highly skilled worker, investor or entrepreneur in tier 1.

you have a post study work visa, not a student visa, you cannot study full time on a work visa. You will have to apply for a new student visa.
Carrie Said:
Post-Study Work Visa Tier 1?We Answered:
From my understanding of post study work. you are expected to switch to another visa as soon as you are able to.Your visa of course will cover you till Oct. But it's perfectly fine if you apply for student visa commence in September and have an overlap period.
I don't know if you have special arrangement but I don't think there's a much of a point saving you a month time. but you should be able to find out whether you will be able to choose the starting point of your student visa when you apply.
but I think it's fine as long as you are covered by valid visa, I mean they won't kick you out of the country just because you study in your post-study work period.
I would advise you check with the Authority but hope that helps.
