You can work as a private tutor, retail assistant or waiter in a restaurant. NUS might even allow you to be a teaching assistant if you are really good.

if she is a qualified Nurse (that she is not), there are loads of nurses jobs available on NHS. Otherwise she can apply as a nursing student here and come to study & once finished she can start working as nurse. But for student visa she must be able to prove that she can pay the fee & has got enough money to support herself. OR if she is being sponsored by someone then he/she must be able to prove that.
