Accuplacer tests for Community colleges?We Answered:
The Accuplacer test is usually different for each school.Usually though, in general, you have a math test which starts in the basics and moves up until you miss so many. The language one is you have to define words and this shows if you need more eng.comp classes. Then you usually have to read several essays and then answer questions about what you have read. There are usually about 5 essays. Then usually the last thing you do is write an essay on a subject they choose. I hope this helps you. I have listed one site that should really help you.Megan Said:

In mathematics, the absolute value of a real number is its numerical value without regard to its sign.
So absolute value of 2 = 2 and absolute value of -2 = 2
We write it as follows:
| -9 | = 9

Total weight = 4+4+3+2 = 13
(Note: we count science weight twice, since student has 2 science courses. We do not count the English weight, since student has no English course)
GPA = (4x4 + 4x3 + 3x2 + 2x3) / 13 = 40/13 = 3.076923077 = 3.08

Please help me work out the elementary algebra problems in the study guide step by step. Thanks?We Answered:
4. D - The area of the large circle is piR^2. The area of the small circle is pi(R-3)^2. You want the area of the ring, so take the area of the large circle and subtract the area of the small circle.5. D - (3x - 2y)^2 = 9x^2 - 6xy - 6xy + 4y^2 = 9x^2 - 12xy + 4y^2
7. D
4 - (-6) = 4+6 = 10
10/-5 = - (10/5) = -2
10. B
20 - (4/5)x > 16
subtract 20 from each side: -(4/5)x > -4
multiply each side by -1: (4/5) x > 4
multiply each side by 5: 4x > 20
divide each side by 4: x > 5

I failed on the math part of the Accuplacer college placement test..what can I study to pass??We Answered:
Math is math. It doesn't depend on the specific questions. Keep learning and practicing. Make sure you UNDERSTAND the material. You practice this by doing problems. Look at sample tests and have the curiosity to find out what you did wrong or didn't understand.Brent Said:
help me solve for x: 4(3x+2) - (x+5) = -3?We Answered:
4(3x+2) - (x+5) = -3By distribution:
12x + 8 - x - 5 = -3
Combine like terms(constants on the right and the other terms with x on the left):
12x - x = -3 - 8 + 5
Simplify:
11x = -6
Division:
x = -6/11
