Clifford Said:

Should I take a Sylvan ACT test prep course?

We Answered:

It wouldn't hurt anything, your school should have some sort of pact classes and etc. as well. check for free classes then if need be pay! lol good luck!

Tracy Said:

Does the ACT test prep classes really help?

We Answered:

From personal experience i say no. The tips that they give you are very generic and obvious. there is really no one there for a one-on-one type thing.

I recommend you just take some practice tests so you know what to expect on the exam, and what you might need to refresh on

Lee Said:

Will those ACT test prep books help...?

We Answered:

I'm a test tutor, and I'd say 'yes.'

The reading comprehension portion of the test will exercise your ability to read texts closely. That's always a useful skill to learn.

The writing section tests your knowledge of common grammar/usage/mechanics errors and your ability to choose appropriate alternatives. That's an editing skill, which is another useful ability to have in school - you'll want to make certain you hand in good, clear, well-written papers to your teachers.

Math and science I can't really speak to, as I don't teach them, but I can't imagine it would hurt to study them.

All that said, however, I think it'd be more useful to you in the long run, and more fun, to draw up a list of challenging books and read through them. You'll see how good writers write, will improve your vocabulary, and broaden your outlook on the world.
