I need to know how to deal with home visit for natural schooling in NSW with all the board of studies? We Answered:
Do you mean unschooling?I live in NV, USA which requires no records but there are several ways to record unschoolers. The easiest is to keep a journal or blog and just mke notes of what they do all day. Everything has educational value so the only task is to trasnlate it into educationese.
Check out Sandradodd.com/unschooling for some more ideas on unschooling documentation.

HSC maths courses NSW AUSTRALIA?We Answered:
Hi, I'm in year 11 in NSW, and thought I could help you out. Usually if you were in an advanced class, you'd be expected or encouraged to do Mathematics or Extension 1. Intermediate - either mathematics or generals maths, but if in the lower classes, its basically general maths. Although the level of maths should also depend on what career you're looking into, how good you are at it and how keen on math you really are. Otherwise, i'll give you a scope on what each subject is like and how they run.I'll begin with Mathematics, which I do, and am glad i do it.
Mathematics runs through topics that go through basic skills and follow onto topics like algebra, equations, trig, coord.geometry, etc. Its bascially like revision from years 7-10, but with more knowledge built onto it (and more equations to learn).
Extension 1: You go through the topics much quicker than Mathematics, and taught a lot more stuff in each topic. Thus, when you revise for topic tests and exams, its hard to remember them all over again. The subject studies everything that meathematics study, but only more. This is to apparently balance the workload somehow, but you don't need to know that.
General: Its very simple and basic. One of my friends does it coz she hates math and doesn't treally need it for her chosen career, but she loves it.
I'll give you an example of how they run.
Three topics - Functions and graphs, Trig., and Coord. Geometry.
If the mathematrics class starts learning the topic on Trig., Extension 1 would have already finished and begun the topic on Coord. Geometry. Meanwhile, general maths would begin on Functions and graphs.
All classes learn the same things (in order), but the pace at which they are taught is very different.
I was in advanced maths last year, and chose to go into mathematics.
Don't do the subject because your friends are doing or because the teachers tell you to doit, you do it because you feel you are capable of doing it and when it comes to exams, you know you are able to handle it. If you do it for reasons such as, "I wanna be in the same class as my friend" and your capability level is unmatched by the subject, you're ruining your chances of doing well in the HSC two years from now.
For you, I'd go for Mathematics, and if you don't need it or you hate math so much, you do general. Make yourself happy, and be sure you can enjoy, even if it is just math.
Good luck on your subject selections. And if you need any other help, even about year 11, just ask. (tolai91@hotmail.com)

NSW goverment Free Laptops?We Answered:
This was an election promise but if Kevin Rudd tries to keep it, it will cost him more than $2.5 billion. Julia Gillard has already backtracked and said Rudd meant that every high school student will have ACCESS TO a laptop, not at all the same thing. Don't hold your breath!Bessie Said:
Which subjects scale in the HSC? (NSW, Board of Studies, Australia)? We Answered:
My understanding as a student (not as a teacher) is that academic subjects scale up whereas creative subjects like music, drama, art are not as favourably treated. I did 3U Maths and if you do well in your 2U test you are guaranteed to do OK in your 3U. I was in the top 10% in 2U tests (remember that 4U students don't do 2U test) and even though I did crap in th 3U test I got more than a reasonable mark (i.e my 3U mark was dramatically scaled up because of my good 2U mark). My experience also tells me that teachers are more than willing to explain this to you so don't be afraid to ask them. It might sound stupid but they want you to get the best possible mark (sounded crazy to me at the time anyway) so talk to them.
In the end academic subjects get treated better eg physics, chemistry, maths etc.
