Department Of Education

Kelly Said:

How is the federal department of education a violation of the 10th Amendment?

We Answered:

The Supreme Court has gone wildly off track since 1900 with its focus on case law and precedent preservation. This has the effect of making erroneous interpretations permanent.

They need to return to strict interpretation and original intent.

What would be the difference between getting a Masters in MFT, in the Psychology and Education Department?

We Answered:

I would strongly suggest that you look at your particular state's independent licensing requirements. You may find that you would be eligible to become independently licensed if you obtain your Masters in MFT/Psychology but not in MFT/Education. I know that the particular state I live in (Ohio) has some very specific ways that MFT's can be licensed, and many ways in which they cannot be. So be careful- I would be more concerned with if you can be independently licensed or not than the focus of the education- in many states, if you cant have an independent license, you're pretty much screwed.

Since we have doubled the Department of Education why are America children getting dumber?

We Answered:

BING BING BING. And we have a winner. It is about time people are starting to realize this. the US educational system has been a joke for decades. It needs to be reformed. It is not the money that goes into the school systems as it is a lot of the teachers who are there. It is the lack of pushing students. It is the lack of actually caring by this nation for the future. We have been falling behind in the world.

Why do 'Education Department' college professors contradict themselves when it comes to diversity?

We Answered:

I'm not quite sure I get what you're asking.

If you student teach and find you have one Black student, two Hispanic students, and one White student, you have "recognized" the cultural diversity in that class. Appreciating that cultural diversity is a different story. From the way you phrase this question it seems to me as if you don't appreciate cultural diversity (if this is the case, then I'm incredibly bothered by the fact that you're an education major and haven't developed this ability).

"Recognizing" diversity and avoiding stereotypes or generalizations don't, in any way, contradict each other. You say you personally do not discriminate (good), but how can you not "recognize" cultural diversity? If your class consists of students from different socioeconomic backgrounds, you will need to consider that in order to differentiate instruction for those students. In my student teaching experience (which was in the Boston Public School system), I noticed that many times, my Caucasian students would not respond to a teaching technique the way the Hispanic students would. I did not make generalizations or judgments about them, rather, I recognized that they were a diverse class, and adjusted my teaching styles to accommodate their different learning styles. Their cultural experiences and background are definitely going to influence the way they learn, and how they feel about themselves academically.

Please re-phrase your question, because I think I'm still unclear on what your argument is.

How strict is the Education Department for Australia?

We Answered:

Anything that happen on a school trip (whether one happens or not) depends on DepEd recommendations. If they are sating no traveling to certain countries - then the school cannot go (school fall under a government department). Its not a holiday, but a government sanctioned activity you are going on.
