Which GRE study guide is better- Kaplan or Princeton Review?

We Answered:

Either one, you must just self discipline to use them and take the time to read the explanations for the correct answers.

Kurt Said:

gre study guide?

We Answered:

Basically for all academic tests, you will find that Kaplan, Barrons, and Princeton Review has a book for that test. Personally, I recommend using Barrons as it is usually tougher than the test and goes into more detail, so you are much more prepared. Princeton Review goes into less detail and is about the same difficulty as the test. Kaplan is usually too easy and doesn't properly prepare a person for the test.

Self-employed taxes? Can I write off a GRE study guide book?

We Answered:

GRE expenses are not deductible. Only expenses required to maintain your current job are (for example, a professional license).

You are mixed up about the Lasik surgery. Read IRS Publication 502 concerning medical/dental expenses. Only such qualifed expenses IN EXCESS of 7.5% of your gross income can be deducted if you itemize.

What's the best Vocabulary study guide for the GRE?

We Answered:

I found Barron's to be the most helpful. It divides the 3,500 master word list into more manageable sections followed by quizzes.

Additionally, I strongly suggest making flash-cards yourself.

Jessica Said:

Whats the most current GRE study guide, book or whatever would help me to pass this test?

We Answered:

I bought Princeton Review's Wordsmart for the GRE

The math on the GRE is no higher than it was on the SATs. They figure that while you may not have studied math in your undergraduate work, you should have been working on your vocabulary...

So, you mostly just need to expand your vocabulary and learn words that are likely to show up on the test. Wordsmart for the GRE is all about prepping you for the verbal parts of the test (analogies, critical reading, sentence completion, and the written portion).
