Studying the Celts and Gaelic?

We Answered:

Hi

I really recommend Oideas Gael in Donegal.
It is a wondeful informal college for adults, with some international accreditations.

I have been going there for over 10 years on and off, and always have a great time. The main man is Liam O'Cuinneagain.

I'm an Italian girl who wish to study at uni in Ireland?

We Answered:

You qualify for free fees since you're an EU national and have been living in the EU for the past 5 years. See http://www.citizensinformation.ie/catego… for more information. The €800 is a registration fee, which everyone has to pay. I didn't go to UL though so I don't know if it has a good politics course.

Don't let the "stab city" thing put you off going to Limerick. It's a nice city, the violence is hyped up by the media and is mainly a feud between two families, so you're not going to be involved.

Question about university timetables, and courses.?

We Answered:

Basically it depends on the course and year you are in

I took Occupational Therapy, and I was in Mon-Fri 9-5 with Weds pm off for sport, and the odd couple of hours off on a thurs and fri, and one term was placement.

My friend took Teaching and she was in Mon-Thurs and fri ams. She also had a term of placement.

My housemate took Bio, and she was in 4 days a week, for 2 hours at a time. Another took History and Politics (a combined honours degree) and he was in just 2 days a week for 3 hours a time.

You are able to take combined honours degrees. Some universities offer fashion and photography, others just one of the two. Take a look at the UCAS site for more info as to which unis offer which degrees.

Can an Aussie get a Student Visa for Ireland?

We Answered:

You would probably have to be in an actual college. I recommend you contact the Irish Embassy and ask them what you need to do.

Tommy Said:

Where should I study abroad?

We Answered:

That's all? No more option? No Imperial College (London), no colleges in Germany or CH, no University College (London)?

I'd go for City of London or Upsala.
LONDON
PRO: London itself is a pro (lots of things to do and visit). City of London is not the best college/uni in London, but it is a good university. London is a city where you can see many good examples of old and new architecture. CON: Living expenses in London are very high. You will not learn a foreign language (although I don't think you would in Upsala since most peopl can speak English there).

UPPSALA:
PRO: Small city (150000) near Stockholm. University of Upsala is over 500 years old and is one of the most prestigious in nothern Europe, but I don't know if it's good for architecture. CONS: Weather. Living in a small city means less to do, but Stockholm is only 70 km away.
