If it's a textbook we're talking about here, try writing down the main idea of each paragraph. It's best if you write it in your own words. This way, you're re-enforcing the idea in your own mind AND you have a quick-reference.If we're talking about a piece of literature you're reading, try taking it a chapter or a couple pages at a time. At the end of the interval you've set for yourself, write down or say outloud (in your head if you'd rather not spend a lot of time talking to yourself) what just happend in the story. That'll help you remember.

Well, it sounds like to me you're searching for the easy way out... some kind of food that will give you instant power. I'd just like to say that you're body is just the way that you're mom, dad, and all the adults have ever taught you.Your body is a giant machine that needs to balanced on all levels. Nutritious food from all food groups, proper hydration (H2O), 7-8 hours of sleep, and exercise is the best way to help increase your memory power.
I know first hand. I changed my dieting, drinking, sleeping, and exercise patterns completely. I can tell you that you just feel like a million bucks doing it. Especially your brain, it just works at tip top shape if you take care of yourself and balance things.
Take my advice, its hard to change all those at once, but if you take it slowly, you'll get there.
