Which city and country would be best to study abroad in? Cusco, Peru or Merida, Mexico?

We Answered:

I have been to both places and I would recommend Peru.... unless you love classical guitar music (as the musicians roam the streets in Merida). They both could be wonderful, but I did really love the region around Cusco. I recommend that you research both places on Tripadvisor.com. It is a wonderful site to read about others' experiences in each of these locations. You can also post questions and get answers, sometimes from a local expert. Since you and I may like very different things, you may learn more of what you need there. Look up Merida forum, and Cusco forum.

I'd love to do what you are doing. Hasta mas tarde.

Tracy Said:

is ISA a good study abroad program?

We Answered:

Sorry, I don't know about ISA. But, I studied abroad twice in France and I highly recommend AHA International. I studied in Angers, France and I found the the AHA staff, my host family, and the school instructors and staff to be very friendly, supportive, organized, and fun! I had an amazing time and recommend AHA without hesitation. Everything was professional, organized, and handled in a timely way.

I also studied in Grenoble through API and had a less pleasing experience. They messed up my financial aid, didn't properly sort out my paperwork before I arrived, were late transferring my credits back, and my instructor was one of the worst I've ever had. However, my host family was delightful and the university was really active and interesting. I had a friend who also studied through API at the same time as me and she had a wonderful experience. I don't know if I was unlucky or what, but I can't personally recommend API as highly as AHA.

I don't know what school you attend or how that might factor into these programs, but I thought I'd share them anyway. Good luck and have fun!

Harold Said:

I am studying abroad in Spain this fall, and I am wondering what is a better program, API or ISA?

We Answered:

I didnt go to Spain but i went to Ireland with API and i loved it, they were really helpful and have a great staff. They usually include trips that you do as a group when you get there in the price, however one of our trips was to somewhere all of us had been so we did something else, they are really flexible like that. I though API was great but thats just me. Good luck and have a great time.
