Ptcb Exam Study Guide

Tiffany Said:

What's a good PTCB certification examination guide?

We Answered:

All the pharmacy manuals are about the same. Just make sure you get a dosage calculations book to go with whatever you choose. Mine is Dosage Calculations made Incredibly Easy, and it's put out by Spring House Books. Hope this helps.

Wilma Said:

Do I have to go to school to become a certified pharmacy technician in Georgia?

We Answered:

My sister is a pharmacy manager in Georgia and she never made any mention of her technicians requiring to pass a certification for a pharmacy tech. If you're looking for an opportunity at pharmacy, make sure your resume shows some experience of experience with customers and professional skills. Reading up on prescription drugs is a good start and should help you out. Hopefully my brief answer helps you.

What is a good, current study guide for the PTCB exam, in my spare time, that doesn't cost an arm & a leg?

We Answered:

PTCB exam

Laurie Said:

Can you take the PTCB pharmacy technician exam without taking classes?

We Answered:

Yes, you can study on your own if you wish. Study guides, often referred to as "Review Manuals" are the preferred way to self study. They cut to the chase and have fresher information than store purchased books. Think about the distribution that books go through, they are written, edited, published, then printed and sent through warehouses and finally end up next year at Borders. Review manuals are sent right from the author to you, so they are less expensive and more up to date.

Classroom study is, of course, better because you get hands on training and job placement (usually). However, many people do self study with much success.

Has anyone used the "Secret of the PTCB exam study guide before?

We Answered:

I haven't looked at the book you mentioned, however, in internet lingo the word "Secret" usually means BS / rip off. I studied for and passed the PTCB last year. (with no experience at all in a pharmacy)I would recommend an actual self study book for preparing. There are no secrets, well, I take that back, there are a couple. The first one is that since the test is multiple choice you already have a 25% advantage. Then there's the point that you are allowed to get some wrong and can sometimes spot the answers that are obviously not right and all of that puts you half way to passing. Besides that, there is no proprietary information in those books. I offer my site to you to use for free to study. If you want a recommendation on a study guide let me know.
