Scholarship To Study Abroad

Allison Said:

i want afree scholarship to study abroad in US how can ido that?

We Answered:

1. Your English needs to be vastly improved to study at the graduate level, especially in such scientific/technical fields. You will have to pass an English-language exam, TOEFL, but passing the exam is not a guarantee that your language skills are really good enough to survive, no less succeed, in grad school.

2. See if your Egyptian institution has some sort of study abroad program which provides financial aid for citizens of your country to study in some other country. If such a thing is available, see which countries, schools, programs are eligible for such financial aid.

3. If you cannot obtain financial aid from your own country, chances of obtaining any financial aid are exceedingly poor. You will need to prove you have sufficient funds to pay for all school-related costs at the university which accepted you, plus pay for all of your living expenses, plus your transportation back to Eqypt. No money, no visa. NO scholarship aid is going to cover all of your living expenses and transportation! You must be able to prove you have the funds.

Does anyone know how I can get a scholarship to study abroad?

We Answered:

being a non traditional students is one of those qualifiers for scholarships that actually will work in your favor.

the scholarship site I use is www.fastweb.com

you can fill out a personal profile and then as scholarships become available, they will be sent to your profile (and in email alerts if you elect to) so that you can see $ amount, deadline and about them

I have elected to receive alerts about study abroad scholarships that i may qualify for, so i can assure you there are definitely a bunch out there.

another nice thing about fastweb is that they're a very legit site, so there's no spammy, lame, questionable scholarhips.

good luck!

Please tell me your experiences: how to get a scholarship to study abroad in USA?

We Answered:

To be able to help you, I will ask about your country of origin. One thing that you should know is that you will not get a study abroad scholarship in the USA unless you are interested in a four year program or transfering to a four year program. In that case you need to take your SAT score really high, show them that you are a genius and then some of schools may offer you scholarships. Thst is true only for private institutions. Public schools!! just forget about those.
The right school will depend on the quality of your application and your ambition. In America you will find schools for every taste. They are located in big cities and some in rural areas, some follow a semester structure, other will choose quarters. Some schools are classroom oriented (research universities), others are more for real life practice, if you know what they mean by that.
Anyways, you need to answers a lot of questions and I can better help you.

Good Luck
