John Said:

social work and child development/family studies major?

We Answered:

As undergraduate degrees, the two are pretty comparable and you probably do the same type of work, although job opportunities for BSW or closely related Bachelor's are scarce. There are a myriad of things you can do to help kids and families as a social worker if you get your Master's in Social Work (MSW).

I have been invited for an interview (BSc.(Hon) in social work studies) any idea on questions to expect?

We Answered:

They will ask you about your academic preparation, professional preparation (work experience/volunteer), and personal preparation (how you have dealt with challenges, isms, etc.). They will want to know about why you are interested in their program, what you will bring to the program your commitment to social work values. They may ask about future career plans, type of social work you would hope to do (often they are looking do you fit with their program). Be honest, don't bullshit, have questions to ask them about their program.

Nina Said:

Can anyone help me with my social studies work?

We Answered:

Rifles. Ammunition. Black gunpowder. Compass. Materials to make maps with, including surveying instruments and sextant. Telescope/looking glass. Good horses. Other animals like chickens and hogs. Wagons and replacement wheels. Salt pork and hardtack biscuits to eat. Salt and pickling agents, to preserve meats and eggs. Coffee and tea. Tobacco. Fish hooks and line for catching fish. Axes, saws, hammers and other tools to cut down trees and build cabins with. Nails. Canvas, a bolt of cloth and needles for sewing. All of these things could be used to trade with natives for a guarantee of secure passage through their lands, or to hire natives to help scout the way.
