Study Abroad Summer
Valerie Said:
Should I study abroad summer after graduation? We Answered:
Job market, no. You can't plan your life around something like that.If you were going to do a study abroad program through your school I would just make sure that your enrollment status through the school doesn't change. You wouldn't want them to kick you out of the program. I

Would it be worth it to study abroad in Spain over the summer? We Answered:
I have never studied abroad but I have friends who have and they are so glad they did. It is really helpful for actually learning the language and culture, as opposed to memorizing. Your school might have some scholarship programs set up for studying abroad. Remember that it might be an investment, because with the current economy some companies may be more willing to hire a bi-lingual person as opposed to a solely English speaking person. So, if the program looks like it would be helpful and educational, I would definitely study abroad!Debbie Said:
Can you study abroad for college credit during the summer before college? We Answered:
A student can choose from many different high school study abroad programs. High school students might want to embark on a study abroad program that lasts a couple of weeks, the whole summer, a semester or an entire year. If students are interested, the best thing to do is start the process early and contact their school’s guidance counseling office. High school study abroad programs allow students to become more independent while enhancing their educational scope. On the other hand, college is probably the best time for students to study abroad. Studying abroad is practical for college students academically. It introduces them to a new learning environment while they earn credits toward their degree. Students who are interested in studying abroad in college should start the process early, probably a year before the desired attendance date. It’s a long process, but one well worth the time and effort.

I want to do a summer study abroad session in Spain? We Answered:
Would you recommend doing it?Yes, yes, yes!!! I went to Sevilla for a semester and love it! it's like living in a movie, with old houses, genuine people, the university is really beautiful, students super friendly.
What kind of weather do they have there in the summer?
depends on which region but for the most part, VERY hot, especially in Sevilla, Madrid, Granada, etc. However you get used to it and there is AC almost everywhere.
What kind of food?
If you're in a city, you'll find everything - Spanish, Italian, French, American, Lebanese, etc. etc. Barecelona and Madrid are super international and super lively. You'll find restaurants open till really late at night. In more remote areas, it's mostly Spanish food which is great and grocery stores where you can find all the basics to do anything you want.
Homestay or apartment?
Well it depends on your objective. If you really want to experience the culture to the max and learn the language, then I'd say homestay for sure. If it's not your first time travelling by yourself and you're confident you'll be able to manage, go to an apartment, you'll get more freedom.
How do they dress?
Mmm it's Spain, it's the 21st century. They dress like you and me :).
What are the people like there?
In villages, very nice. In Barcelona / Madrid, you'd feel they're a bit rude if you don't know them especially if you don't speak the language (especially salespeople, etc.) but once you get to know them and become friends, they're nice. And people you work / study with usually take the time to get to know you so you'll find they're really nice.
Good luck! Email me if you have other questions.
