Study In Melbourne
Christina Said:
I am a Perth student still 17 wanting to study at Melbourne. Going there for an interview where can I stay?We Answered:
I can definitely help you out here=). I am 17 as well and went to Melbourne for a week this year. I stayed in a YHA hostel http://www.yha.com.au/ (I stayed in the Oasis, it's about 15 min. from the CBD, you can go there easily by tram, the other one, I think, is actually located in the CBD).As you will see when you go to the booking page (you can either choose under 17 or 17 years and over), they allow people starting from the age of 17 to stay on their own. All you need is a letter from your guardian that they allow you to stay on your own, however, they didn't even ask me for it. These hostels are very nice and cheap and I was glad to find them because other hostels usually only allow people from 18 up.
Enjoy your stay in Melbourne, good luck and feel free to consult me if you have any further questions!

Is it good for young kids to migrate to Melbourne and study there? We Answered:
Childcare costs vary between the centre. They are from around $A15 a day to up to $A50 per day. There is Commonwealth government subsidy, but I am unsure of what it is as it is some years since I had to use them. There are a number of good primary schools in every suburb, but I would probably suggest the inner Eastern suburbs of Toorak (a wealthy suburb), Caulfield, Kew, Malvern, Prahran, Doncaster. The State primary schools in these areas are excellent, as are the private schools (Catholic, Jewish and Church of England, Presbyterian and Protestant). Similarly with High schools and there are several excellent universities.
As for the milk formula, I do not know. There are a number of good child milk formulas available in chemists and supermarkets.

How is it possible for me to convince my parents to allow me to study in Melbourne? We Answered:
Where do yu live now.Your parents are right if it's a 6hr flight. However if you really want to try this, you have to work on your dad.Melbourne is a very safe city.Nothing bad will happen to you if you don't put yourself at risk.Be assured that this city is a safe place. One of the safest in the world. But I can understand your parents reservation and anguish.I'd feel exactly the same way if it was my loved one.Against this I think if you are able to persuade your parents you should try this.Gregory Said:
How do I study for Melbourne high?We Answered:
Surely a coordinator at your current school will be best suited to help you with this?Have any other students from your school applied for Melbourne High?
If so, there should be a set examination for entry. I sat one of these exams to enter a girls' school. Basically you need to be a good student with a well rounded knowledge of all subjects.
Renee Said:
Where can I find a list of evening/night classes available for graduate study in Melbourne? We Answered:
Distance education might be the best choice as evening classes for most degree subjects start around 6.30-7pm or even earlier 5.30 etc. Each subject is conducted on a single day so you have to get through around 3-4 hours work in a single night - so a later start is not possible and it is not feasible for most workers to come two nights a week for the same subject.Have a look at the Distance education unis - Deakin, CSU, SCU, UNE, UniSA, ECU and see if they have something you like.
