However, most international students I know (in Perth) actually got their part time jobs from the advertisements posted in their universities or the workplace itself (restaurants/cafes/etc).

You will find that the winters, especially the evenings, cooler than Malaysia. Bring a selection of clothes and then see how you find it. Certainly at least one warm sweater and a windproof jacket to start with. By September it will be warmer again, so you don't have long to worry about it.

You will probably be able to continue in year 10 unless testing shows you to be too far behind year 10 standards to be able to manage in that year. You may need additional tutoring. Then again, who knows, you may be ahead of Perth year 10 standards. A lot will depend on how good your English is. I suggest you select a couple of schools in your required part of town and contact them for detailed information on their requirements. If you will be coming to a private boarding school, the same applies. Select a school or two and ask.

sorry but without a visa you can not enter australia to work
to enter on a student visa you have to have the money first to pay for tuition and living expences,you can work part time on a student visa while attending school but that wont help you get the money to pay tuition as it has to be paid before you start to study

Take after school classes with drama activities. Look in the Yellow Pages for acting or drama classes or ask your teachers about other courses involved with the topic.
There should be something for young people to get involved with on weekends and that.

hey I'm Indian and lived in Perth. it is a great city. The University of Western Australia is the best uni in WA, but there are others like Edith cowan university and a private uni called notre dame university. these university's, especially UWA are one of the top uni's in Australia.
Perth is a peacefull place but sometimes gets boring since it is not near other busy city's like Sydney. there are many odd jobs to be found in Perth and depending on your age and experience you can get from 10 - 25 dollars per hour.
you can even get a job at a hairdresser shop and do work experience with pay.
whilst from former accounts stating that Perth is cheap, in the past few years the Perth house market has risen and is the same as Sydney's.
