Study Skills Handbook

Ray Said:

What are your best study tips for me?

We Answered:

here's one my history teach kept telling me;
write your notes onto a small piece of paper in phrases, try to use as little words as you can. Then carry that around you, read it every so often, eventually you'll know it like the back of your hand (exaggerating).
or
just find different places and people to study history or whatever with. The new surroundings and all that can really help in memorization. Plus, there's also acronyms!! like ROYGBIV for the colors of the rainbow :))
anywho, good luck on your test~!!

What is my english professor asking? plz help!?

We Answered:

You're pretty much going to do a critique of Brereton's introduction and by critique, I mean you're going to discuss what the reading has to offer and what it lacks in. You should probably look at the readings work cited and check some of those things out to help you out with your critique and state areas where you agree and disagree and why.
Also, 3 pages double spaced is roughly equal to 1000 words.
Hope that helps =)

Jessie Said:

can you please someone help my first day of work jitters !?

We Answered:

don't give up without trying. they're not going to make you do something without showing or telling you how.

i suck at simple math too. i worked as a cashier for a while and after the first week or two i was fine. if you have trouble making change without the register, take along a little notebook or possibly even a calculator to help you add/subtract.

try not to worry too much. nobody does the job perfect on their first day! :]

how to overcome my extremely poor driving skills?

We Answered:

ask your parents. or go to a car dealer and ask if they could give you a test. if you know any friends who drive better than you ask them if they could help you in their spare time. and remember SAFETY FIRST!! :) Just Kidding. :P

Question About A Class? Should I Chose It?

We Answered:

Communication skills classes have nothing (or very little) about language skills. Communication skills are learning to focus your words to get your point across accurately, and learning to understand the meaning behind others, essentially building upon what you already have (for example, you know when being have a sarcastic tone that they don't mean what they say, a comm skills class will help you pick up similar types of clues). These also help for non-verbal communication, like body language, or being able to read a test better for what the question is asking. If you think you would like to take the class, by all means, do.
