Study Skills Time Management
Gary Said:
Any one have advice for developing study skills, time management and organzation? We Answered:
Wow, good question! I've got lots of tips. Check it out:1. Develop study skills = reading storybooks(develops a love for books).
= give a time everyday to be called 'study time'.
2. Time management = Ensure you prepare a full up time table for everyday but leaving a little bit of free time in it. This helps to avoid time being spent unwisely.
3. Organization = playing puzzles is a great way for a person to learn organizing skills. A person will have a personality of being neat and tidy if this liking for puzzles is started during childhood. The effects of remain forever.
Well, hope this helps, BYE !

How does a lifelong procrastinator gain study/time management skills in time to go to grad school? We Answered:
You don't necessarily need to change 180. I would focus on your strengths and play those up. Human nature tends to procrastinate, but you may want to modify your study habits a bit. Doing a major paper or thesis the night before does not cut it. That involves breaking the project up into mini projects and going from there.Heather Said:
What are some good time management skills? Study tips?We Answered:
Time Management Skills:Plan enough time for study. As a general rule, in college, you should study at least two hours outside of the classroom for every hour that you're in a class.
Develop the habit of studying at the same times each day. The creates stronger study habits.
Get a weekly or monthly planner - depending on your preferences - and write all due dates for assignments and test dates.

Study Skills:
Try to not spend more than one hour at a time on any one subject. Try not to spend more than 20 to 30 minutes on memorization. Short blocks of time are the best method for studying and retaining information.
You'll need to take frequent rest breaks in order to remain alert. Try to take at least a ten minute rest break in between studying for two different subjects. Also, try starting your study time with the most boring or most difficult subject and end on your favorite, funnest or easiest subject.
Try to study similar subjects at separate times. It is important to separate study periods for similar subjects. This adds variety to specific study times and keeps your brain alert and active.
If there are certain times of the day in which you always become sleepy, avoid studying during those times.

Need ideas to help me with time management skills? We Answered:
Time management can be a very difficult thing to overcome especially when you have more then the average daily demands on you, which it sound like you do. Being a stay at home mom, caretaker for my disabled mother, a part time student and a business owner I know how crucial time management can be. My suggestion is use a day timer and plan your day according to the highest priorities to the lowest priorities and set out to accomplish one task at a time. I find that when I sit down to do things, if I concentrate on just one thing until it is finished, things get done more efficiently then if I was trying to do 10 things at the same time. But remember to also make time for yourself. This is VERY important because if you don't you will burn out quickly. Also, if you don't drink coffee, then start carrying with you power bars, trail mix etc and eat things that will give you energy naturally... Also, not every plan works for every person, so try different options until you find what works best for you. Research the internet and try different methods and eventually you will find what works best for you. Hope this helps, and good luck and hang in there - there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!!Rita Said:
