Study To Be A Teacher

Patrick Said:

What is the best way to become a teacher?

We Answered:

All of the other answerers are right for their state. Actually what you have to do is to find out what your state accepts for a credential. In California your best bet would be to major in history. During your 5th year, which is required in CA, you need to take your education classes and student teach. Some students are able to get a MA during that year also.

What would a high school math teacher study in grad school?

In these times it is better to apply for a teaching job with a BS and credential. Once you are hired and get tenure you can continue your education and obtain a subject masters of PhD. Or you can obtain a Masters in Education MEd or a Doctorate in Education Ed.D these master or or doctorates have emphasis in in teaching or administration.

Help with my independent study teacher/adviser?

We Answered:

If you passed then it doesn't matter. Its your choice. Just say "No, I have completed algebra 1, and I passed it. I don't see why you want me to take it over." She cant make you do it, so don't give in, especially if she has no valid excuse.

My counselor tried to make me take financial life choices (accounting class) (A STUPID class... it was so annoying when I tried it out for a day). I don't like to stereotype but it was full of drop outs and gangster people. There is nothing in my career that needs this, Im going into psychology. She only wanted me to take it because I had a double lunch and she is anti-fun. I refused, and there was nothing she could do about it. And I had my double lunch. :D

All is well if you stand up for yourself, but don't yell, she will just send you to the principal. lol

Edit-----

Also, I forgot to mention that at my school if you dont get along with your counselor, you can request to change counselors. If she is a total witch and you cant stand her, I would suggest trying to switch.

Lena Said:

should i study teacher when i grow up?

We Answered:

We need more teachers and it can be great job. It is a challenge and its something you have to devote your life to. Its not just some job you work 9-5. But its very rewarding and you are always working towards something. It is a lot of work and you are never done but if you are up to it, I say go for it. You should get some tutoring experience or help out in a classroom to see if you like it. Also, despite what people say- teachers make quite a bit of money- between 30,000 to 50,000 a year.

Jesse Said:
