Studying In The Usa

Patricia Said:

Do the ICSE/CBSE schools accept transfer for 10th class in January for someone in USA studying 10th grade?

We Answered:

Yes - you would need to show transfer of residence if you are shifting at the beginning of the school year. But if the child has to give class 10 exams in March 2010 then no school would admit him so late. He would have to repeat the class or you cna shift after aug when he clears grade 10th in USA. From next year as boards will be optional - such problems will no longer occur

You best bet right now would be one of the residential schools which take a lot of international students and might be fliexible. Check out http://www.dpspinjore.com which is pretty popular in the north

Christine Said:

can an international student studying in USA get a transfer to canadian college?whats the procedure?

We Answered:

"Why would you want to leave America for America Jr.?"

Brett Said:

why do you choose studying in the USA?

We Answered:

I went to the US once for summer school (in high school) and LOVED IT. The education was incredibly challenging and I was surrounded by equally intelligent people who were genuinely there to challenge themselves academically. We spent 5 weeks in summer school and we took on two courses (of our choosing) that were meant to be a year's equivalent. It was more rigorous than "regular" summer school. At that point I realized that maybe there are colleges and universities with the same caliber of students, academics etc. So I decided to apply and turns out I was right. I'm not saying that there aren't schools around the world that are equally competitive with equally intelligent students, but I chose the US in particular because I had a positive experience before.

Esther Said:

Once I finish college in UK I want to move to USA. What choices of studying Performing Arts in USA do I have?

We Answered:

What makes you think you can just "move" to the USA?
If you come to the USA for university studies, the price of tuition is ruinous.

Joanne Said:

How to go about studying in USA?

We Answered:

Applying to do a Masters degree in the USA is very straightforward. You apply directly and separately to each uni. The better unis need you to sit an additional exam depending on what you are planning to study, (GMAT/GRE/LSAT) and they will give you the GPA they expect to see which is quite easy to translate into your degree grade. Better unis will expect at least a 2.1.

Financial implications? Well you will have to pay for both your fees and your accommodation. No big fat tax payer subsidies in America. If you are in the top 5% of the applicant pool, they may offer you a scholarship.

You will get your visa after you have accepted a place, allow several months for this. It will allow you to work only on campus.

Your age will not be a problem, there will be students of all ages. There is not much 'university life' at the grad student level, that is more of an undergraduate concept.

Studying USA law enforcement! Does this work to.....?????

We Answered:

laws of every jurisdiction vary. I would ask the school you attend if their educatio is credited in the US. You will learn more than the law, you will learn investigative methods criminal behievior the difference (in germany ) between civil and criminal actions. Concepts that are applied across the entire body of law enforcement. No matter what jurisdiction you work in there will be differences, so learn how to learn to be able to apply knowledge and gain understanding.

Jeanette Said:

what benefits can i draw studying in USA as compared to Germany?

We Answered:

If you are a US citizen, be thankful that our great nation has the world's best education programs.

You should be fluent in German if you want to study in Germany. German universities are even more overcrowded than those in the US. You may also have problems with the recognition of a foreign degree in the US.

It's been almost a hundred years since Americans went to Germany to get a better education. We've defeated them in two wars and now they live under socialism, which is why their universities are so crowded.
