The China Study
Larry Said:
What does The China Study say about vegetarianism? We Answered:
I love The China Study and reading it made me decide to go vegan. In short, it concludes that consuming any animal protein (including dairy and eggs) is unhealthy and is directly related to all sorts of health problems like heart disease and most cancers. I like how the book seems scientific but is actually really easy to read and understand. I highly recommend it!Gene Said:
Anyone read "The China Study" - I have a question about it?We Answered:
Here are some comments about the book that answer your question with the links listed below:The China Study is not a diet book. Consumers are bombarded with conflicting messages regarding health and nutrition; the market is flooded with popular titles like The Atkins Diet and The South Beach Diet. The China Study cuts through the haze of misinformation and delivers an insightful message to anyone living with cancer, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and those concerned with the effects of aging. Additionally, he challenges the validity of these low-carb fad diets and issues a startling warning to their followers.
The authors introduce and explain the conclusions of scientific studies, which have correlated animal-based diets with disease. The authors conclude that diets high in protein, particularly animal protein (including casein in cow's milk) are strongly linked to diseases such as heart disease, cancer and Type 2 diabetes.
The authors recommend that people eat a whole food, plant-based diet and avoid consuming beef, poultry and milk as a means to minimize and/or reverse the development of chronic disease. The authors also recommend that people take in adequate amounts of sunshine in order to maintain sufficient levels of Vitamin D and consider taking dietary supplements of vitamin B12. The authors criticize "low carb" diets (such as the Atkins diet), which include restrictions on the percentage of calories derived from complex carbohydrates.
NEGATIVE or less that positive comments that don't totally agree with the findings in the book,
Another drawback of the China Study was that the questionnaire did not adequately account for the diversity of animal foods. Questions about the frequency of consumption of sea food, meat, eggs, and milk were included, but questions about organ meats and insects were not included on the questionnaire, nor was fish differentiated from shell fish, despite the very different nutrient profiles of these foods.
Campbell discusses the suspected role of animal foods in causing prostate cancer, but makes no mention of the potent preventative role current research is attributing to vitamin A, a nutrient found in animal foods.42 He devotes 19 pages of The China Study to discussing the role of cow's milk in causing autoimmune diseases,43 but zero pages to the role of wheat gluten in causing autoimmune diseases.44

Danielle Said:
Why do so many people from China study in Australia? We Answered:
Come on truth teller, why you never stop misguiding the innocent people :) well I think its just because Australia and China are big trade partners, which helps lots of chinese to migrate to Australia for businesses and thus establishes a big chinese community, which then encourages most students to come here and study and then seek residency. Its an attraction to their own community so as to make them feel like in China even being in Australia. Thats all, nothing sinister in it, is there? :)Marion Said:
