Ways To Study For A Test

Gladys Said:

what are good ways to study for test and quizes?

We Answered:

Make outlines, rewrite notes, go over problems and solutions in your head, Start studying as soon as you get the material. It will definitely help you retain the information and by the time the exam and quizzes come around you will know the info so well the test will take itself. Trust me. It's all in the preparation and preparation has to start as soon as you get the material. Don't wait until it's too much information and you can't get through it all. Keep a pace from the beginning.

what are the best ways to study for a test?

We Answered:

I have a difficult time studying for tests as well.

I find it helpful to search for videos on youtube or the web that explain the materials, especially if it is for science or history.

It is also helpful to test your knowledge with online quizes.

Sparknotes helps too

What are some good tips and ways to study for a test?

We Answered:

Studying is always a pain, but what I find works best is studying one subject at a time, in a quiet place (or with some classical/music that works as white noise) and highlighting/looking over important notes.

I completely understand your situation (mostly since I'm in the same situation, or was until 3 hours ago when I stuck to my "get-it-over-with-studying-plan-but-stil… studied").
But to study well you need to take good notes in class, too! (It's my New Year's Resolution :P)
For example:
What I just did to study for my Algebra II Test was take out the key concepts I had for each section in my notes, was write them on one sheet of paper. Later tonight, before I go to sleep, I'll review it. And tomorrow morning, I'll look over it again, and then right before the test, again! :) I find that the more I look at a certain concept, equation, write it 10 times, that It becomes cemented in my mind. So a key part of 'good studying' is REPETITION!
Also it matters where you study. I use to study in front of the television or tried to squeeze in some between commercials, but I realized It really isn't a productive way of studying. So I turned off Glee, took my books/homework/notes to a quite, empty room and finished studying in less time than It would have taken me If I had done it where distractions are plentiful.
So another key part of studying well is ENVIRONMENT! :D

So, to sum up my points:
Repetition and memorizing.
Having a 'study-appropriate' environment.
Staying focused.
Working one subject at a time.
Starting a pack to write good notes, or study from your notes and textbook, remembering to note key points and concepts.
Turn off that television/computer/phone/anything that'll take time out of studying.
And of course, think of how it'll feel when you get a 100 or when all your work is done?

And in the future, to study for a test you should always ask the teacher for help! Come after school, or early in the morning, or even sacrifice lunch to review key concepts, and ask questions! Maybe she'll be able to offer some study tips, after all the best person to help you out is the one who's actually giving the test! :)

I hope this helped.

What are good ways to study for a test to get a good grade. please help!?

We Answered:

Studying is never fun. And the key to getting good grades is putting the fact that you hate it aside. The first thing you need to try doing is finding a quiet place with as few distractions as possible. As awful as it sounds, try to find the most uncomfortable place possible. Maybe a dining room chair, or a stool. It helps because it makes it harder to drift off. Study somewhere with bright lights because it will help you to see and absorb the information.

The next thing is, no matter how awesome something else sounds, studying is your top priority. No matter how tempting the text message you just got is, it's not going to help you pass your classes. So use some self-discipline, and it ends up being pretty rewarding knowing that you can focus that intently. Music, too. If soft music in the background helps you study, by all means put it on. But if you know you'll be focusing more on the music, turn it off.

Use your references!! Books, teachers, the internet, anything reliable (reliable being the key word) you can think of. You have all of this at your fingertips, so utilize it.

Eat brain-food. Eat breakfast, and healthy foods that will help you to stay awake during your study session. Some studies show that blueberries and peppermint help to stimulate thought.

Also try to find what works best for you. If repetition helps, try making flashcards to go through. If you're a sight learner, and like to see things, draw pictures to help you remember. If you like to hear things, make up a song or story that you know will stay in your head. Sometimes, if you do it with a friend, it can help you both and be fun at the same time. But remember, even if you do try something that could be fun, you still need to study!!

And depending on the subject, practice, practice, practice! It sounds like extra work, but it can only help you in the long-run. It can also help you to find exactly what you need to work on. Find some tutorials, and see how things need to be done.

Hope this helps you!

What are some good ways to study for a social studies test?

We Answered:

Best way to study for a science or social studies test is to read the material out loud to yourself with emphasis. Like you're telling a story to someone. Try to 'guess what the teacher may ask you. What are some causes of the American Revolution? Do you think the colonists were justified in revolting? The English had just spent much money trying to protect the colonists from the French, were they justified in trying to raise money through a tax? What mistakes did they make in trying to tax? There is a nice series of videos on the Making of a Revolution that ws produced by the History Channel. If you can find them online, they explain the entire period of time and what led to the revolution as well as how the colonists defeated the British.

Interesting facts. Many of the British soldiers brought their wives with them while they fought during the war. The British hired Hessian soldiers from nobles from what is now Germany to fight against the colonists.

First, you need to know what your learning style is. Learning styles include:
Visual: You learn best when colors and/or pictures are involved.
Aural: You learn best by hearing something over and over.
Tactile: You learn best by actually doing it.
