Julie Said:

How can I apply to teach in order to earn my way through grad school?

We Answered:

All you must do is apply to graduate programs. Each program will consider you for fellowships, teaching assistantships, and research assistantships (whichever they offer).

You MUST have excellent GREs, an excellent GPA in your major, and strong letters of recommendation from your current professors in order to be a strong candidate for these awards.

Your personal statement (and often, your writing sample) will also impact your ability to qualify for such an award.

Best wishes to you!

where can i apply to teach english in Japan?

We Answered:

I would warn you to exercise caution if you are thinking about using an agent for overseas work. Way too much human trafficking is going on in our part of this world! Japan is notorious for trafficking sex workers through the Yakuza.

I would suggest you try to secure a job by yourself via the Internet on a site like Dave's ESL Cafe (http://www.eslcafe.com/) first. You can then do all the visa application processing by yourself also without having to go through an agent.
I wish you luck.

How do I apply to teach in Private/ Religous schools?

We Answered:

Much ths same as private schools, in that you need to get your resume into the private/religious schools possession, and ensure they look at it. Contact is also important. Being religious and involved in the community is a huge plus. Criteria is often the same, however, a B.A. in education and teacher certifiction, or licensure.
